PTERI doesn't have a separate "MFA reset" step distinct from restoring your identity — the two are the same mechanism.

If you have your recovery phrase or an encrypted cloud backup

This is fully self-service — follow recovering account access to restore your identity on a new or existing device and re-register.

If you don't have either

Being upfront about where this stands today: because your private key never leaves your device and Kakr Labs never holds a copy, there is currently no guaranteed self-service path back into that specific identity without a backup. If this happens to you, open a ticket under Account & Access — our team will look at what's possible case by case, but a resolution can't be promised without your original key material.

The best fix is prevention: set up a recovery phrase or encrypted cloud backup now, before you need it.
