"Challenge expired" or "invalid signature" during sign-in
Why authentication challenges fail, and how to resolve it.
PTERI authentication issues a short-lived challenge that your wallet signs — see how authentication works. A couple of things commonly break this:
"Challenge expired"
The challenge has a short window on purpose — it's part of what prevents replay. If your device took too long to prompt for biometrics, or you approved it after stepping away, request a new sign-in attempt rather than trying to reuse the same challenge.
"Invalid signature"
This usually means the signature was produced by a different key than the one PTERI has on record for that account or address — for example, signing with the wrong wallet, or attempting to sign in after restoring a different wallet than the one originally registered. Confirm you're using the wallet that was originally linked to the account; if you've restored the wrong one, see recovering account access.
